Gigi Duvall wrote her first book when she was nine years old. It consisted of four sheets of paper and one crayon-colored cover.
When writing about Louisiana, Cajuns, and the bayous, it's from real life. She spent her childhood and early adult years on the bayous of Terrebonne Parish with people who really did act just like many of the characters she creates.
With a strong curiosity for all things criminal, Gigi earned a B. A. from the University of South Alabama in Criminal Justice with a minor in Sociology. She later added an M. S. from Capella University. As she says, just one dissertation to write and she can claim the final prize of PhD. She has authored several academic projects on the subject that fascinates her the most: Parricide.
Bayou country will always be home even though Gigi now lives in Maryland. She regularly visits the home where she grew up. Where Moss Bayou would be if it leaped out of the pages of her books.
Married to her very own Prince Charming for more than twenty years, she designs happily-ever-afters for the characters she calls her imaginary friends.
Gigi loves chatting with her readers on Facebook and Twitter. She'd love to hear from you.
